In some markets, rates can vary daily, depending on the availability of equipment. Rating freight is both art and science put together. Numerous factors affect the final rate that are charged to move your freight. Here are some factors that may decrease or increase your freight rate:

• What are the dimensions of the load (Length, Width, Height)?
• Does the load require delivery or time-sensitive pickup?
• What is the weight of your load?
• Does part of the load have concentrated weight at any time?
• Does your load contain hazardous materials?
• Is the load over-dimensional, requiring special permits, pilot cars or routing of any kind?
• What is the value of the freight to be moved?
• Does your order require any special equipment such as 9-axle lowbeds or tridem step-decks?
• Are there any ferry charges or toll roads involved in the movement of the load?
• Is there waiting time in excess of two hours loading or unloading?
• Is the load originating from or delivering to a point that includes off road miles?
• What is the freight volume involved? example total number of loads.
• Is there seasonal move that might encounter road ban restrictions due to spring thawing conditions?
• If moving less than a full trailer load, is excessive use of the trailer required?
• Does the freight need to be tarped?
• What is the frequency of the movements?
• How far does equipment need to be mobilized prior to pickup after delivery
